Back to Our Roots
The Northwest Football League (NWFL) founded and sponsored by the Hilliard Optimist Club more than two decades ago has undergone a number of changes throughout the years in order to better serve the youth of our community. As the Hilliard Optimist Club celebrates our 50th anniversary this year, the league is being restructured in order to better meet the needs of the children we serve.
Effective immediately the Northwest Football League will consist of Hilliard teams only. Benefits to Hilliard parents are obvious – limited travel and a return to our community roots. Now gearing up for our 51st year of football we’ve come full circle and are looking forward to focusing all of our time and efforts on further developing the Hilliard football and cheerleading programs.
Due to these changes the schedule for the upcoming season has been restructured to include only Hilliard teams. The reworked schedule will be distributed before the end of the week.
Parents located in the communities no longer participating in the NWFL should direct their questions to their local communities as no information regarding their schedule, rules, structure, etc. is available.
Parents ... don't forget to mark your calendars for the August 16th Jamboree to be held at Hilliard Davidson High School. There will be inflatables, carnival games, food, scrimmages on the high school field and more throughout the day.
Good luck to everyone and we hope you enjoy the 2008 NWFL football season!

The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure. These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.- Vince Lombardi
